Hunter lifts Isles over Thrashers in OT (AP)
Josef Vasicek and Trent Hunter turned an apparent disadvantage into the game-winning play for the New York Islanders. Atlanta won a faceoff early in overtime, but Vasicek stole the puck and set up Hunter’s winning goal as the Islanders recovered after blowing a three-goal lead to beat the slumping Thrashers 5-4 on Thursday night.
