The Anaheim Ducks have put defensemen Brett Festerling and Danny Syvret on waivers. The Ducks made the moves Thursday. Festerling scored three points in 42 games with Anaheim last year in his second NHL season, but has played in just one exhibition game this fall. The Edmonton Oilers have waived defenseman Sheldon Souray and goalie Martin Gerber. If none of the other 29 teams put in a claim for either player by Friday at noon EDT, the Oilers can send the veterans to Oklahoma City of the AHL.
