Blackhawks end 9-game skid in Dallas (AP)

Jason Williams scored his second goal with 20.4 seconds left and the Chicago Blackhawks snapped a nine-game losing streak in Dallas, beating the Stars 5-4 on Wednesday night. James Wisniewski fired a long pass to Williams, who fired a wrist shot from the right circle past goalie Mike Smith to give the Blackhawks their first win in Dallas since 2001.

Panthers’ 4-goal third tops Hurricanes (AP)

The Florida Panthers needed some time to get warmed up against the Carolina Hurricanes. Richard Zednik scored the go-ahead goal and the Panthers scored four times in the final period to beat the Hurricanes 4-2 on Wednesday night. Trailing 1-0 coming into the final period, the Panthers scored three goals in a 5:12 stretch.

Pandolfo sparks Devils to first home win (AP)

New Jersey Devils' goalie Martin Brodeur makes a save against the Tampa Bay Lightning during the second period of NHL hockey action at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007. The Devils defeated the Lightning 6-1.

The goals finally came for Jay Pandolfo and the New Jersey Devils, giving hockey fans in Newark a reason to cheer. Pandolfo scored three goals for the first time to lead New Jersey to a 6-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday night, giving the Devils their first victory at the Prudential Center.

Richard Zednik scored the go-ahead goal and the Florida Panthers scored four times in the final period to beat the Carolina Hurricanes 4-2 on Wednesday night. Trailing 1-0 coming into the final period, the Panthers scored three goals in a 5:12 stretch. It started when Florida tied the score at 2 with 5:49 remaining on Jay Bouwmeester’s first goal of the season.

Valtteri Filppula gave the Detroit Red Wings a rare win in Edmonton and kept the Oilers from salvaging a point from overtime.
